Cycle Queensland 2012Just because I wanted to start a thread.Lol
http://cycleqld.bq.org.au/enter/ I think I'll definitely go because that is beautiful country particularly in Spring. And the whales should be there in Hervey Bay
Cycle Queensland 2012LOL Grid, I can't wait for next year's CQ either!

Re: Cycle Queensland 2012Entries now open at http://cycleqld.bq.org.au/
Got number 15 and 16 and hopefully easy campese tent again (<-- lazy)
Re: Cycle Queensland 2012I'm in. I got number six. I can't believe five scumbags.. err.. I mean... fellow cyclists got in ahead of me!
I can't wait for this year's ride. Also hoping for Easy Campese, but this year I have a nice tent to take, so if it doesn't happen, I won't cry. Max One of the best things about bicycle commuting is that it can mitigate the displeasure of having to go to work. - BikeSnobNYC

Re: Cycle Queensland 2012Well I hope they get a good showing this year, though the lower then normal numbers in 2011 made it easier at the end of each day.
Re: Cycle Queensland 2012Any other forum visitors signed up?
Re: Cycle Queensland 2012The 2011 event was mostly very good but i will not be doing it this year.
I particularly enjoyed the weather and the route in 2011. Hope you have good weather this year. I would recommend you consider booking some motel accomodation in Hervey Bay in case it rains. Recent Favorite rides:
December -TUMBULGUM to TOMEWIN by some obscure route-can't wait to do it again !!!
Re: Cycle Queensland 2012All quiet on the CQ front here. The route profile looks better for my tandem and I particularly like the idea of a loop the first day.
Re: Cycle Queensland 2012Ok, just found this thread, which of you forum members are doing CQ12 this year? I'm in!!!! And really looking forward to it!!!!
Re: Cycle Queensland 2012Not long to go now!

Re: Cycle Queensland 2012Not the response I was after. I am compiling a national ride calender at the request of our supporters - many of whom participate in these rides - and have been able to gather a lot of useful info on roughly 80-90% of them except this one and some rides further south not associated with State orgs. And yes, I am including useful non-biased info on BNSW and BNV rides. Merely asking a pertinent question Max.
I deserve the witty remark from you, I admit that, but my question was actually without malice. So, anyone? The only good Cyclist is a Bicyclist

Re: Cycle Queensland 2012Never mind Max I found it by chance. The Cycle Queensland 2012 nominated charity is the Forget Me Not Children's Home. Gee, thanks for the BQLD type response though

Re: Cycle Queensland 2012Has anyone booked rest day activities yet? I'm still undecided. I'm keen to know what others are doing.

So Dave, d'yer reckon you could Google first and ask questions later next time? Shaun ...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.

Re: Cycle Queensland 2012
Nope. My old man is going from town to town along the ride towing the caravan (so no tent city for me!).... i'm gonna enjoy every minute when i'm not riding just chilling out with him. Living nearly 5hrs away from me, i don't get to see him too often these days, which is why this event is gonna be awesome in more ways than just riding. ![]()

Re: Cycle Queensland 2012My mum has decided we're going to the aquarium on the rest day. Shark feeding and so forth. I really like aquariums, so it should be a good day

Re: Cycle Queensland 2012
Hmmm does everything need to be for a charity !! I am so tired of political correctness You can elect to fundraise for your own charity if you need to feel good about your ride . Otherwise just enjoy the company, food, entertainment and countryside Last edited by the grid on Wed Aug 29, 2012 7:48 am, edited 1 time in total.
Re: Cycle Queensland 2012I have to say that I am really looking forward to just unwinding and forgetting about the world for a while. I can't wait
