"write" Contador off :) ... he's fresh as a daisy, and ready to go.

ha "right" / "write" this is what happens when you have sick kids keeping you up all night, certainly the third week will be were we will see either Froome become fatigued and Contador come through with some fresh legs.

Sure, by midway, when the Tour really gets started, we should see Contador perform.
Hopefully your kids are better, and the only thing keeping you up all night, is the TV coverage.

Three wins for Degenkolb, impressive stuff for a tour saturated with mountain stages. Tonights stage looks like an exciting one!..
Will Froome have the legs?

Great stage last night. I was on the edge of my seat hoping Meyer could keep away. Solid effort.
Exciting and unexpected ending up the top of the mountain. Enjoying this tour the most out of the big 3.

Loved how Contador said no to Froome to go in front! Froome clearly needs to follow people just like sir wiggo. I thought Contador would get away to take the win.

Agree, best tour this year.

I also loved the way Bertie took it easy after his terrific breakaway and didn't realize Valverde and Rodriguez were behind him until he was overtaken metres from the line!

Contador was buggered, not taking it easy.

Velonation (or it could have been cycling news) suggested he had bike trouble. I too think he was popped... although I must say the sight of Valverde and Rodriguez rounding the last bend out of the saddle pushing big gears was brilliant.

Nice win last night for Philippe. But the highlight was Rosendo going on the break on his own .....

I don't think he knew they were there, Mark!

They were behind him, around the corner, and the TV coverage hadn't captured this either, so his team car wouldn't have known.

At least JR won instead of that other cheater.

So, Degenkolb nabs another one.

Is he a cousin of Boonen ? His nodding dog style of sprinting is really annoying to watch. I'm expecting his head to just drop off one day

Midway la Vuelta. 1-second away from the Red Jersey.
The real Tour begins, Contador has reasons to be happy.

The first week of Vuelta has been more exciting than all of the TdF - and the most exciting bit is yet to come!

Jeez Contador couldn't have scripted that any better could he, Katusha have to control the peloton and Froome lost time, his looking very good for this. Hopefully it stays nice and tight right to the last week.

Froome must be tired.

We are seeing Contador at his peak and Froome after a massive TdF, it's not really a level playing field, but it makes next years TdF look a whole lot more exciting than this years!

The Playing field is an inclined road, and the first to the top wins.
Expectations for Froome were optimistic at best. He's done quite well.
Contador, looking down the barrel. 13" at the 13th. Looking quite good.
Sights are set.

This is such an exciting race. Attacks, riders catching attacks, knackered riders at the end of stages. Much more interesting than Sky Train trundling along in the Tour. Rodriguez is doing a great job of eeking out small little gaps here and there, I hope he wins. 2 more nights of exciting stages and then Friday night is also looking good. The race should go down to the last few days.

I'm lovin' it.

Contador : Epic win! What a win to take the leaders. How exciting is this tour?
