But it has fresh paint and chrome. I'd steer clear.

Thanks. Other frames I'd seen on ebay had stuff stamped all over them, under the bottom bracket etc. I was a bit suss on the fresh paint and wondered if they'd just put a colnago fork on a different frame (didnt see the dropouts - my eyesight must be getting worse). Thanks againrkelsen wrote:It has the pantographed fork, a cloverleaf cutout on the downtube/head lug and Colnago dropouts. Normally, it be case closed...

Would it matter? I have a real one and I rarely ride it because its not that great a bike. I see myself squarely in the Copperart school of Art though...squeakywheel wrote:Thanks. I had one in this colour till a year or 2 back. Sure enough, I think this buyer will be lucky to get a third of the asking. But this must be the biggest 51cm frame they ever made! More likely the XL frame. I just can't work out what they could have measured to get 51cm.

It's a touring frame, got nice new tyres, new chain, new bar tape (the extra comfy stuff), everything just adjusted, lube & checked, one owner (since I bought it), only ridden to Mayne (daily), serviced regularly (since I've owned it for the last 3 weeks), & for just another $200 000 I'll chuck in a bridge across Sydney harbour I don't need any more, oh & I have $500 000 000 my rich african uncle left me, but I can't get it out of the country, if you give me your bank account details I'll transfer the funds into your account & give you 10%.
What??????? No body believes me, honest injun's, trust me I'm a doctor.

As for that Diamondback, that's a weird one, welded carbon fibre?

Lovely marketing speak - seems they had crabon fibre tubes glued into welded lugs. A magnet would confirm which is which, but I would guess the red bits are steel & the black bits crabonldrcycles wrote:Good god they're STILL trying to sell that Europa? Surely the listing fees would be about equal to the asking price by now.

I would be just a little bit concerned about V brake levers with canti centre pull brakes - I thought they used different pull ratios, but could be wrong

But three things make a difference ...the type of canti, the particular type of lever and the proposed use.Mulger bill wrote:You aren't wrong Bruce. V levers with canti brakes is an official BAD idea.
Shaun
In general I find all those late low profile canti's were not much good without careful set up and grippy pads.
In any case that add just seemed wrong and those levers look to actually match the brakes.
I'm just amazed to see an ebay add with mistakes/fibs
