Frame is number 545. Just spent an hour staring at it in the shed.

One of my commuter bikes (I currently work/reside in 2 diferent areas and have a commuter bike at each house). Unknown origin but built with Tange mangaloy 2001. Shimano 6207 group with early shimano friction bar end shifters and weinmann centre pull brakes. Paint is a copy of an old Apollo II I used to own and quite liked the look of the white head tube.

i also have another raleigh, but it's a bit older than this one, and not even close to being built.

A nice build from spare parts!?

How do you find those handlebars? They don't look like they would be very comfy in the drops for me.

thanks, scott! i'd much prefer some traditional tdf drops, but that's what i had.
if i took closer photos you'd see that most of the parts are pretty scratched up except for the crankset.

cheers locky. it feels a bit more twitchy at speed than the vertex - maybe because of the shorter stem?
still feels quite plush tho.

Thanks fellas. As you may have noticed it not totally period correct, it would have had 8 speed Record I put on 9 speed record and rather modern wheels but then balanced it out using an 80's panto 3ttt Olympia stem
It came to me as a frame and fork only and I repainted myself, it's Columbus EL-os weighing 1510grams frame only. I was told it was built for a professional team racer in Europe? so could be very rare. Now it's time to ride it.

Beautiful Merckx seddo, keep that paint looking NOS those jobs are almost impossible to recreate. I can imagine both our bikes racing side by side through a sweeping high speed bend in the Adelaide Hills offcourse :) Actually recreating a 90's peloton with many forumites would be a site to see.

Mustang there the highly controversial Mavic r-sys wheels. Mine are generation 3 models the first one's are old news but unfortunately there ghost still lingers on the internet tainting there reputation. I love them as all round wheels but they excel as climbing wheels, there the most true spinning laterally stiff wheel especially when standing on the pedals.

That would be so sweet, i was so lucky to pick that frame up, initially the predominant yellow colour put me off but the black and red highlights and how the guys at the LBS added that little touch with the finishing tape have improved the bike no end, link will show what it use to look like
