DSR/Westcycle Survey- Strategic Framework for Cycling in WA

DSR/Westcycle Survey- Strategic Framework for Cycling in WA

Postby Lizzy » Thu Aug 30, 2012 12:28 pm

Hi all, this just hit my inbox, from Westcycle via City of Melville:

"We have been commissioned by the Dept of Sport & Recreation to develop a Strategic Framework for Cycling. This Framework is expected to guide the future development and coordination of cycling in WA. It will also be used to guide future grant funding allocations.

We are seeking the input of the WA cycling community into the creation of this Framework through an online survey. To access the survey follow this link:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/StrategicFrameworkforCyclinginWA

We would greatly appreciate it if you could inform your members and friends of the survey and encourage them to get involved. It should only take about 10 minutes to complete."

Done.

Call me suspicious but I detect a bias towards cycling as a sport rather than cycling as a mainstream activity.

Really, just because question 5 was:
5. What are your motivations for cycling? Please rate each option.
Socialise with friends
To save money
It is good for the environment
It is convenient and practical
For fun and enjoyment
For health & fitness
To prepare for competitions
It is a great way to tour and explore
Other (please specify)

My response was quite detailed in the 'other' box, which included Commuting to Work etc.

Would that be the e-mail from Melville, which included everyone's e-mail address? Wish they would use blind-CC or similar, in case you didn't want your e-mail adress shared.
