Early Sat morning, we drove down to Canungra only to watch the temp plunge from 12 to 5C. The first 15 minutes of the ride to Binna Burra were decisively painful on the fingers. Nevertheless, another 15 minutes into the climb, and fingers were fine and I was unzipping gilet and jersey.

Another beautiful Brisbane morning, which saw a significant increase in River loop traffic.

No ride this morning  however had to go into CBD for an early meeting and Bramble Bay was like a mirror. Came home about 9:30am and no change, oh how I wish I could go out.

It would have been nice to be along the bay somewhere but quick RL is better than nothing.

Anyone complaining about Queensland weather needs to live...I dunno, somewhere else. LOVE the weather here, love the variety of seasons, the heat, the humidity, mild winters, wet season, autumn and spring. The amount of Cairns folk that whinge at any given season is incredible. And really, really annoying... "Too hot, too cold, too wet..." Seriously, we just have it so good here.

Yep, it's gonna get bloody warm over the next few months, and wet to boot, but bring it on. This is paradise!! :)

My former boss was from Melbourne. He told me that Queenslanders whine about the weather no matter what it is. That has certainly been true in my experience but I'm not about to change.

Today I had to put up with a headwind as I peddled madly up the hills. Very annoying. I wish the wind was blowing the other direction.

On one section of my daily ride, I normally average about 40kph. Today I was struggling to hit 30kph the wind was so strong. A good work out though :-)

A lot has to be said in favour of a loop, but having said that , have started a river loop with a westerly headwind, to have it swing to a south-easterly headwind as the sun rose.

Anyway what a glorious sunrise today. Made the ride just perfect.

It's been good to bank a few KOM's that are only possible when no headwind is present.

+1, with 2 cyclists in this house the washing pile gets huge with all the winter gear...not having to worry about all the extra layers makes commuting just that little bit easier too!

Splendid morning today for the ride to work!

??

You don't wear your gear three or four times before a good airing and another three or four before washing??????

How very odd ;)

Gusty WSW at over 20knots this morning - lousy push into the headwind around the river loop down Coro Drive & UQ.

Then the wind dies off for the ride home!

Beautiful weather this morning, except for the gusty head winds. I say gusty because every corner I turned the head winds seemed to hit my with renewed vigor. there was no way I was getting Strava PRs this morning :-)

Things are in the mend. Had a little injury time recently. I think I'm getting better now though. :)

I've been a little quiet on the forum. I tend to do that a bit. :o

If there is a headwind why does it always seem to be at pinch points or up hills? I mean, come on! It's not like I'm slow enough as it is
