What Year is This C2C Frame??
Postby Krank » Mon Sep 10, 2012 10:03 pm
Someone is offering this frame to me for sale (never been used with 5 year warranty).
The seller states it is 2010, yet I have seen similar pics of this frame on 2008 bianchis...
Fork is full carbon including the steerer tube.
What unique identifiers exist on this frame to identify year of manufacture??
Your thoughts?

Hi Mark.
Would you know what year it is?
I have to ring the seller tomorrow to obtain a price.

Not too sure when they were first made but I believe they were replaced by the Oltre in 2010.
The C2C (coast 2 coast) was their roubaixesque frame .. ie more relaxed.

OK - thanks Mark.
I currently ride a bianchi with a 56cm top tube length.
THis frame in the picture has a top tube length of 58.5cm.
SOmetime I feel my current ride is too small, but I like to ride agressivley - even on long 100km rides. I do not get sore back either...
How do u think this extra long top tube would accommodate my style (I am 6'2")??

Looks like a 2008
http://www.bianchiusa.com/archives/2008 ... 28-veloce/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
In 2009 the C2C with the bent downtube had a different paint job (Carbon K-Vid) and was the last one with this down tube. In Australia it is possible that some brands with high volumes have different specs and artwork though unlikely. Possible that Bianchi were running out some old stock but even if it was purchased in 2010, it is still a 2008 model frame.

Any more than $1000 might be too steep... Offer him $800!... They are nice tho.
With regards to the year, the vintage, the warranty etc.. the fact is that the frame might be new as far as that actual frame, but that model is at least 4 years old, and that particular, given the seller is being truthful, is at least 2 years old.
The warranty also may not transfer to the new owner (ie you) - so it doesn't hurt to ask him all the questions.
They are a nice bike tho - more of a relaxed geo than the Oltre, so for the right price it could be a good buy!

Hi Krank,
I had the exact frame (until some lowlife thought he would steal it). I am pretty certain it was the 2008 model (I purchased in late 2007).
My wife still rides her 2007 model which is the same except for a celeste top tube.
They are super comfy frames but still have the race feel and look to them to them and I highly recommend it.
I think mine was a 58cm (it was a while ago so I cannot be certain) and I am 180cms. I currently ride a Bianchi MonoQ that is 57cm.The C2C are a more relaxed geometry though.
brilliant frame, I absolutley loved mine but when mine was stolen, the C2C available at the time didn't have the spec I was wanting (Different cranks etc) so I went the MonoQ.
If you could pick up the frame for a good price , (I agree with MarkG that $1000 is too much cosidering it's potentialy 5 year old and in all reality I would be closely checking the warranty claim by the seller with the distributor), grab a gruppo and wheels of Ribble/Wiggle and you can get a wicked scoot at a great price.
Cheers

Hi guys.
Would this 2008 frame be nanotube technology?
Your thoughts on this 2010 Mono-Q frame
http://www.bianchiusa.com/archives/09-b ... egra-comp/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I understand these concepts:
B4P (Born for Performance): light frames, optimised weight-stiffness ratio for multiple purposes.
C2C (Coast to Coast): stable geometry with a less aggressive position in the saddle.
