Quadriceps tendonitis

Anyone had this. Its where the tendon attaches to the patella. Any cures common causes?

I had some mild Quadricep Tendonitis early this year, when I spiked up my mileage too quickly one month.

Spoke to a physio mate, who said to stay off the bike for a week or two, then easy return with a very slow increase in mileage. Worked fine, and haven't had any troubles since...
