700x32 is pretty much equivalent to 27 x 1-1/4. I have 700x35-38 tubes in one bike. And just out of interest, when i bought a new Schwinn Prelude from K Mart for $250 a few years back it had 27 x 1-1/4 tubes in 700x23 tyres.
