Swearing at Ducks
Postby inline_online » Thu Sep 13, 2012 11:21 pm
I heard a strange thing on my commute home this evening.
I guy was racing towards me on his bike and between us there were some little ducks crossing the path.
I heard him say "get out of the f^*king way you stupid ducks" and he didn't look like he was going to stop for anything.
Luckily for the ducks they all made it through unscathed but I did find it a little strange to be swearing at ducks.
I mean, what did he expect them to do?
Cheers,
Dan

Tolerance - it starts with the ducks then extends to our fellow road users.

First koalas ...

now ducks.

What's the world coming to?
A far nicer place perhaps.

Judging by the amount of gear you carry, this was just a typical commute to work was it?

Joe
Just be careful of being mugged and ducknapped.

Duck rage?? - makes you wonder about the state some people are in!

my wife used to sing this rhyme to our babies:
Sad mother duck
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
The sad mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack."
And all of the five little ducks came back.

over the hills and far away
mother duck said
quack quack quack quack
but only 4 little ducks came back.
4 little ducks went out one day.....
etc.

Passed a heap of ducks on my ride this morning. Without considering those around I squealed out like a kid yelling "duckies" as I passed them.
Got some funny looks.

Skull - I would have done the same thing hahaha. I was at the zoo the other week near the bear enclosure and yelled out to my Girl Friend "OMGosh come look at the bear pooping" hahaha The lady standing next to me didn't quite feel the same way and gave me the evil stare hahaha.
If someones in that much of a rush to not stop, he'll need to wait longer if the wildlife ranger or rspca ends up seeing him eventually hit one of them. I'm sure he would probably get done for animal cruelty.

Ha, ha. Yes, just another day at the office.
Actually, these photos come from this series. I rode down to Narrogin, WA, mucked about a bit, and rode back home. A nice vacation.

When it came time to leave I wondered what I should do with the ducklings - there was no momma about. I ended up taking back down the path about 100 meters and left them there - where they were probably promptly eaten by snakes.
A little while later I was thinking that I could have put them in my basket and taken them to a nearby friend who would look after them. I stopped at my fiend's place and told her about the ducks and she said, "Shame you didn't bring them, they would have made a nice stew!" So, great minds think alike.
