Swearing at Ducks

Postby inline_online » Thu Sep 13, 2012 11:21 pm

Hi All,
I heard a strange thing on my commute home this evening.
I guy was racing towards me on his bike and between us there were some little ducks crossing the path.
I heard him say "get out of the f^*king way you stupid ducks" and he didn't look like he was going to stop for anything.
Luckily for the ducks they all made it through unscathed but I did find it a little strange to be swearing at ducks.
I mean, what did he expect them to do?

Cheers,
Dan

It is a serious mistake to swear at ducks. In an incident that still makes me shutter today I was charged by a vicious mob of ducklings after I swore at them. As the pictures below show they forced my off my bike!

I agree, nice set of photos.
Tolerance - it starts with the ducks then extends to our fellow road users.

Too many ducklings. You're going to need a bigger pot.

If the ducks paid Rego it wouldn't be a problem.

Duck rage?? - makes you wonder about the state some people are in! :?

my wife used to sing this rhyme to our babies:

Sad mother duck
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
The sad mother duck said
"Quack, quack, quack."
And all of the five little ducks came back. :D

On ya mate - made my day seeing your pics! I regularly do a few laps around Champion lakes Regatta Centre, where birdlife abounds with plenty of birds and younglings sauntering across the pathways at this time of the year. Happy to say that most people (walkers, joggers and cyclists) appear to have a heart and a brain in this neck of the woods :)

I probably looked a bit 'special' this morning.

Passed a heap of ducks on my ride this morning. Without considering those around I squealed out like a kid yelling "duckies" as I passed them.

Got some funny looks.

Wow those photos are awesome as. I was thinking "oh no those ducks made you fall off" and then saw the pictures. Thats awesome.

Skull - I would have done the same thing hahaha. I was at the zoo the other week near the bear enclosure and yelled out to my Girl Friend "OMGosh come look at the bear pooping" hahaha The lady standing next to me didn't quite feel the same way and gave me the evil stare hahaha.

If someones in that much of a rush to not stop, he'll need to wait longer if the wildlife ranger or rspca ends up seeing him eventually hit one of them. I'm sure he would probably get done for animal cruelty.

Ha, ha. Yes, just another day at the office.

Actually, these photos come from this series. I rode down to Narrogin, WA, mucked about a bit, and rode back home. A nice vacation.

When it came time to leave I wondered what I should do with the ducklings - there was no momma about. I ended up taking back down the path about 100 meters and left them there - where they were probably promptly eaten by snakes.

A little while later I was thinking that I could have put them in my basket and taken them to a nearby friend who would look after them. I stopped at my fiend's place and told her about the ducks and she said, "Shame you didn't bring them, they would have made a nice stew!" So, great minds think alike. :P
