tell me more about the spring on the seatpost. i'd love one of those on my mtb (without paying through the nose for some modern swanky version).

The Breeze and Angell Hite-Rite, iconic piece of 80's mountain bike kit

They come up on fleebay US pretty regularly.. I have a black spring race version (shorter travel) sitting in a drawer somewhere.

The slight rises around here disagree with my knees when combined with this chainring. Plus the cranks spider is bent.

+1

Only ring to ride in is the big dog!

Was disappointed when I had to go down from a 52 to a 49 chainring :( same ratio, 17/16t sprockets, but it looks less imposing :(

I know i've posted it before but i finally got around to putting the head badge on and taking a pic with the right saddle, and that's excuse enough for me :) .

1986 Dawes Shadow. I recently found out it's actually Reynolds 500, not 531, but i had the stickers lying around so thought what the hell. Absolutely love this bike, really smooth, handles well and goes like stink.

And yea i know i need to trim that brake cable outer but the ziptie will do for now :) .

Oh nice, i had a Protour a few years ago, it was a nice ride. Is that Sherwood metallic? I sprayed my Tom Wallace in that, looks really good in the sun.

Treated the commuter to a clean and covered up some of the paint chips it received when thrown into the bushes when I was hit by a car earlier this year. Also added new stem and bars I scored ridiculously cheap on fleabay.

Lots of elbow grease, degreaser & a fortunate photo that doesn't show up all the dings!
