The driver of the car, a 17-year-old male from Oxenford, was not injured.

He will no-doubt go quiet when there's a drunken conversation that goes along the lines of "Could you ever kill anyone?" because he has. From now until the day he dies he IS a killer.
Yep and so are those train drivers that have people that commit suicide in front of them. it could have been completely the cyclists fault there had been no info realesed on that yet, harsh to label him a killer with out knowing what happened.

that is a nasty intersection in the top three for crashes in QLD I believe.

my thoughts go out to his family, I live around the corner from there and ride through it everytime i ride to work, I know my wife hates my riding that way to work.

So you can solo at 17 in QLD?

As a matter or respect and courtesy to both parties, can we please keep the comment reasonably civil until the facts are determined. Once the wrongdoer is established then flame at will.

P plates at 17 is common (16 for L's, hold for 12 months)... Is this different in your state?

In Vic, where I got my license, and where Shaun is from, you get your P's at 18.

Never a good story to hear of a fellow cyclist passing away.

I never realised just how difficult and on the edge of your seat it was to ride on any road on a bike. I thought driving was hard enough.

It is literally a Sensory Overload. My wishes go out to their family.

Absolutely devastating news to hear regardless of who was responsible. ....... Unfortunate tough times ahead for both sides of their families.
