The Cuneo did build up into a very clean looking ride Adrian, nice work.

Thanks for that. Any hints that you could advise? I am thinking I would try lower them down a bit. The PH01 is actually a bigger bike, the prolite feels like a much more comfortable fit. The prolite is a 51.5cm while my Gitane Mach 1200 was a 57cm. Its interesting how drastic the change can be having a bike that fits. "downstairs" used to just hit the top bar which was never comfortable when getting off the bike.

Thanks for that mate. It was so much fun piecing together each bit. I think the build set me back just on $800ish in the end which isn't too bad at all. The frame and forks were the only thing second hand.

And being a small frame it makes the chainring look really big :) .

Re the angle of the bars, the 'proper' set up is to have the bottom of the drops level with the ground, and the bottom tips of the brake levers level with the drops (if that makes sense, there are youtube videos showing it). I always had my tilted up a bit as it effectively brought the hoods closer to me, but i recently set up a couple of bikes the 'proper' way and used shorter stems to keep the same distance and i find it a lot more comfortable. But the right way is whatever feels comfortable for you, it's not tricky to loosen the stem and rotate the bars a bit to see what you think.

Haha thanks :)

They were on clearance from Baskets and Bicycles (but mainly baskets)

I was really hoping to get it with the tuxedo Groupset but settled for the "neat Casual" jeans and tshirt.

The size fits me well too, and the ventilation holes makes for a nice breezy ride (or roll down the hill lol)

Yeah thats for sure haha. It looks huge in comparision. The groupset is a bit old school but for the price I couldn't beat it.

Thanks for the advice, I will definitely try lower the drop bar angle and level out the shifters too. I should have waited till I had them adjusted before I wrapped the bars in tape doh.

Do you notice a big difference when running different headstem angles with regards to steering sensitivity? I would think the longer the headstem, the more accurate the steering would be since the leverage is longer.

Thank you :)

From what i've read apparently a shorter headstem makes the steering more direct, but twitchier, whereas longer stems make the bike more stable, but slower steering. I personally think the head angle probably makes more difference, i have 2 bikes that are a little twitchy at speed, one with a 110mm stem and one with an 80mm.

I run 60mm stems (short torso) - twitchy, yes, but responsive, like, OMF'G FTW! (to quote the kids).

You're not wrong. That is "shut up and take my money!" material. Deserves a pic rather than a link.

The complete bike is missing a little something for me, but that seatstay "bridge" is just soooo cool.

Nah i like a clean look, not that i ever ride brakeless! I think it might be those little dots on the lugs and the threadless stem, just takes a little bit away from it IMO. Gotta love the craftsmanship there though.

Interesting example of how tastes vary - I quite like some of the details, but overall the Pegoretti gets a "meh" from me

The shifters look to be in the correct position on the bar, all it needs is the bar rotated forward till the lower section of the bar is somewhere near horizontal (if that makes sense).

That sounds like a fantastic idea. Thank you :). I will be sure to fix that up over the weekend. I am still too nervous to take it for a spin after some bad luck falling recently lol.
