Tecnotrat frames
Postby morini » Mon Sep 24, 2012 9:59 pm
One is a candidate for being a Europa, maybe, but the other has the remnants of stickers that call it a "Super Record". Now, I've seen a few of them on here but this one is different again. It's got a 27mm post and is as light as f*ck and looks to have what may be an original Columbus sticker on it. If this makes sense; the tubing feels like fake tinny tubing it's so thin. What's odd is that it has mud guard eyelets. Maybe it's a weird ultra lightweight touring bike for those who travel with nothing but a credit card? Came with Campag Athena bits, a rear Superbe Pro calliper, S-Pro rear hub, Campag rim and a dodgy replacement front end from K-Mart. Cost $65 so it was pretty good buying.
Got me rooted. I'll post some pictures tomorrow of both frames. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

No real news here but interesting all the same.

Both my frames could be any of the Abeni family, or is it the Tecnotrat family? De Bernardi, Record, Europa, Saronni, Banani, Ferrari, Abeni.............any more out there? What a c*ck up in history.
I think I'll paint mine red and wack on the only anti Abeni stickers available, Saronni. Pity it's too small for me.

Go with the Saronni decals, or get something tastefully made up just for you.

The blue one is actually called a"Record Sport" + 27.0 seat post + mud guard lugs + English BB + heart cut outs
The black one has + 26.8 seat post + no mud guard lugs + Vitus cable router + no hearts in the lugs + possibly an English BB
The yellow one is a Europa + Falk sticker + made by Tecnotrat sticker + 26.8 post + no hearts + no name drop outs + French BB
All three have very similar seat stay caps.
Some one from Tasmania, McBain?, made bikes called "Record" , with a model called a Record Sports. If I didn't know any better this is one of them.
All look to be from the same factory to me. Crazy array of specifications though.
