Just came accross this, pretty nice deal if they have your size in stock, I have to many bikes already but for anyone after a new road bike this is a great price, my felt was more than that and is mainly 105 gear

Yer not sure Ghost make the best frames but recently I was lookng for a road bike under 1500 for the GF and you can't get much, most has Tiagra or 105 if your lucky certainly didn't see anything with Ultegra

You are better off getting a good quality frame as components can always be upgraded along the way

People always say that but I think if your budget is under $2k it doesnt always work

I've ridden some nice bikes with Sora or Tiagara and I've ridden some very cheap frames with 105, and Id prefer the cheaper frame with 105 anyday

I appreciate everyone is different and ideally you'd have a good frame and good drivetrain but for me a nice smoth noise free drivetrain is heaven on a bike.

Plus upgrading components afterwards is always more expensive than getting better stuff to start with, I have a Anthem 1 with 100% XT gear, the bike is $3k the XT stuff alone to buy on it's own is almost half of that price, if you add the front and rear shocks it's basically the price of the entire bike.

Oz, you may be able to pick up a Merida 905 with Ultegra for around the amount you're talking about.

Do you know what the general consensus is on the frames Dean?

THIS is the thread, though they are talking about the MTB models. I also found THIS thread on there while doing a search. Also found this THIS which classes Ghost as a 'high end German bicycle brand'

The bike is for sale HERE for 1050 euros which is roughly $1725 (quick website conversion). You also get more results for the bikes from google if you do 'Ghost Lector' as a name.
Aksium wheels and Ultegra parts, pretty interesting for $1499.
