Upgrade existing bike or go for 'new'

Hey - I have a BMC SLX01 - and love it - however I want to upgrade a bit - do i upgrade the wheels from Fulcrum 5 and the Ultegra 6600 to new faster wheels (?) and the new Ultergra 6700 - or do I keep the bike as is and look to buy a new bike in the next 6mths. The frame on the SLX is carbon / alloy - but an brilliantly made frame and great quality - if I do buy a new bike I am scared the quality of the bike (frame) for around $3000 will be not as good as the quality of my BMC ??

I was looking at upgrading my old Scott CR1, but decided new bike was the way to go. Looked at BMC Sl01, but got a great deal on a Cervelo S2 and have not looked back.

Simple questions...

How much do you love the bike? If there's nothing wrong with the frame and you still get tingles when you throw a leg over, why not throw some new bits on?

If you have a frameset you truly 'love' then i see no point to replacing it period.

Moving from Ultegra 6600 to Ultegra 6700 is only going to get you a new group set, no significant weight saving and no significant performance gain there.

I'd invest all your upgrade money into a new wheelset and some top flite race tyres + latex tubes and gain an even greater appreciation of the frameset you love.

Bling it, costs quickly multiply with multiple bikes. Best to pimp your ride me thinks.

Get some light race wheels and lose the 6600 shifters. It's great to get rid of those bloody cables.
