Second hand bikes

Postby roadfreak » Thu May 22, 2008 4:32 pm

Hi there,

Coming from a MTB background, I'm wanting to get into the road bike scene.

I'm not looking into spending too much on my first road bike - want to give it a try first.

Does anyone know any shops that sell second hand road bikes?

Cheers.

Forgot to mention I'm chasing a dropbar bike.

Just had a go of my mates Bianchi(sp?) dropbar bike and now its got me hooked.

G'day Roadfreak,

Welcome to the forum.

I don't know of any around here. You might get lucky at your local Cash Converters. Otherwise, keep an eye on the Quokka.

If you let us know where in WA you are, someone might be able to give you a better idea.

Cheers,
Graeme

PS - I've seen some good bargains in the Bicycle Warehouse in Fremantle.

Have tried a few of the Cash Converters, they only have MTBs or comfort type bikes.

Looked in the Quokka and there is a TCR there but its a bit out of my budget.

Will have to take a look at the Bicycle Warehouse.

Thanks :)

BTW I'm in Canning Vale.

eBay, that's where I got my old beastie for the princely sum of $50. Use the search options to add your postcode and narrow it down to stuff within 100km or so radius as most auctions are pickup only.

Also don't be afraid to send a message to the seller and ask if you can come out to view the bike before the auction ends if you don't think the photos/description are detailed enough.

Good luck, happy bidding.

That is my suggestion as well, mind you it has been a bit quiet in the last couple of weeks or so ... goes in cycles I guess :)
