Sound great Pete. I hope it all goes well.

Welcome aboard Recumbenteer. If you feel like posting a pic of your trike, PM me the details of where it can be found on the net, and I'll post the photo for you.

Nup, there at least two others (besides Peter and yourself) here on the forum from Sydney.

Graeme

Everybody welcome on human power vehicles.
We're not the UCI.

I need to check my calendar, but I'm provisionally up for this too.

Now, the question is, which bike to bring? Decisions, decisions...

How's the recovery going from your recent encounter with road rash?

It's going pretty well thanks. The road rash is still very visible but is essentially healed up, it's just the deeper wounds on my elbows that are still giving some minor pain. I should be good to do a bit of riding this weekend :)

Well, I'm still planning to be there. Probably on the Cruzbike, though I might bring the Bacchetta if I have time to put it together.

The OzHPV ride is still on as arranged,
Got my stations wrong though.
It's 10am at Olympic Park Station.
Sorry about that.

Ah, that makes more sense. I was just trying to work out how to get to Homebush Station as it was looking a bit complicated by bike but Olympic Park Station is much more pleasant, a nice ride via Bicentennial Park cycleways.

Expecting a good turnout, Pete?

Good stuff :) I took a few photos myself, in fact you can see me in Pete's photo 3 squatting down in front of Rolf's home built CF 'bent to photograph the integrated headlight.... 8) The USB cable for my camera is in my office though and I was out at a training course today so I can't get them online until tomorrow.

It was a good day indeed. We took a pleasant leisurely cruise down the Cooks River cycleway from Olympic Park to Marrickville, had a very nice lunch at the Post Office Cafe and then rode back again. There were a few showers, enough to get us and our bikes damp and dirty, and two punctures, but generally the conditions were favourable and by the end of the ride we had clear skies, no wind and good riding temperatures.

We had 10 people turn up and flying in the face of recumbent sterotypes only 9 of them where men, only two of them had beards and only 9 were over 30... I think only two were wearing sandals, too... The HPVs present were very varied, we had my Cruzbike Sofrider V2 moving bottom bracket FWD bike, Rolf's home built CF 20/26 SWB, a Kotzur fixed bottom braket front wheel drive dual 700C bike, a Burrows trike, a Bacchetta Giro 20 SWB, what I think was a Flying Furniture built 20/26 SWB with tail box, three Lizard home built low racers in a variety of styles and one Airnimal upright folder.
