Lumpy Kurt Kinetic Road Machine???

Postby VicMic » Tue Oct 02, 2012 3:42 pm

All,

I have a Kurt Kinetic Road machine. However as I pedal, and can feel a "lump" or "bump as if something is stuck to the wheel (there is not). This "bump" can be felt up through the seat post and is most noticable when I stop pedalling and let the wheel coast. There is about two "bumps" per wheel rotation.

Has anyone had this experience? Or is this how the Kinetic Road Machine feels?

I would be very intrerested in some feedback from the KK Road machine owners out there.

Cheers,
VicMic.

No lumps or bumps on my Kurt Kinetic Road Machine, it has always been pretty smooth. How is your wheel? does it look buckled or like it isn't round anymore? I think it is more likely to be the wheel than the trainer.

I agree that the wheel is the most likely.

I use a dedicated trainer wheel, and it is completely true, no buckles. I changed out the wheel to my normal road wheel, (true also) and got the same "lumpy" feeling, but maybe slightly different......

Both wheels run old tyres. Is is possible that the clandestine environment of the bike on the trainer transmitts slight bulges and imperfections from tyres (slits, patches in tubes etc.) that cannot be felt on the road, but are severly magnified on the trainer????
