Ok I'm finally off the mark
Punctured today on Schwalbe Marathon Tryker tyres. Right front wheel went flat on me 6km from home.
Culprit hard bit of white plastic that was in the form of a spike
Wish I had pliers on me as I spent about 2 mins trying to get it out of the tyre, plastic = slippery. Did think about walking to the bike shop 200m away for help but I sorted myself out.
So 1 puncture over 2475km

Watch out Mike, I'm bridging the gap.

+2 today. Double puncture on the way to work.

Heard a click, then "thwump, thwump, thwump". Stopped and extracted a large nail from the rear. One and only spare tube installed (long story, so don't ask why I had only one), hopped on and found that the front was also flat, with a pin-hole in the tube.

Called the cavalry to come help, as I was at least 20 minutes from the nearest station.

Not happy Jan.

New total = 14

+1, 11. I went to ride the cross bike the other day, and the front was flat, so I borrowed a wheel from another bike. Finally had the time to look today - fairy pube, the first in ages. But the tyre was pretty stuffed, so I went through my collection of pre-loved tyres in the shed... most were even more stuffed and they all got binned. All I had left was a Maxxis Refuse, so that's been fitted.

+1, 12. Something sliced through the sidewall on the rear, fast deflation accompanied by a latex fountain from the ~60ml of latex that had been in the tube. A bloody mess everywhere, but I managed to get a patch over the cut before riding home with an ever-growing bulge in the side of the tyre.

+1 for 3 total.

Monday. Rear. Might have been a valve failure as I pulled the valve out of the tube by accident when removing the tyre. Couldn't pump it up to check for a hole then :(. Replaced tube.

+1,13. Maxxis "Re-fuse"? Like hell. It was screaming out "COME ON FAIRY, DO ME, BABY, DO ME NOW!!!".

Chunk of glass, right through the middle of the tread, where the heck is the "silkworm" puncture protection layer in these things? I don't think I've had a tyre puncture this easily since I used my Pro3's for a commute one day.

Damn you Panasonic, I want my Panaracer Extreme Duro's, how dare you discontinue them!

Oh, you bitch! One second of distraction while trying to work out why some DAFT BINT was walking towards me on an on-road cycle lane as I came around a corner, straight over something which left a torn hole in the tread. And I'm all out of self-adhesive patches.

Another sidewall puncture last night on the GP4s = I don't know???

But I do know the GP4s are absolute shockers when it comes to sidewall protection. Got home and replaced them with Durano Plus which were a PITA to put on I might add. Thumbs are still sore!

Hopefully these puppies will serve me well.

So I'm looking at my trike outside and going hang on a second that left wheel looks a bit flat. Go outside and sure enough was flat, but not fully hmmm slow leak. Rip out the tube and immerse in water and sure enough slow leak presents itself. Found a small thorn in my tyre. Seems a weak point on the trykers. They have the central tread which I've been puncture free but the groove next to it, 2 punctures in that location.

So now 2 for the year for me.

+ 1 today.

Fairy pube found it's way through the Gatorskin on the rear.

New total = 15 at 464km per flat.

I popped my cherry this morning...or, more accurately, a one inch clout popped my cherry this morning.

Not sure how many Ks I have done to this point, but would be somewhere around 600 or so...I guess the Specialized Double Black Belt finally met its match. Put a real damper on the day, had been looking forward to that ride all week :(

+1, ummm..... 15.

Walked into the shed on Monday morning, rear was flat, so pulled the race wheel out of the bag. Finally pulled it apart last night, I could find a cut in the surface of the tyre (Conti 4Seasons) and a cut in the tube... but I couldn't find where the tyre had actually been penetrated. What the???! Ripped the tyre off, replaced it with a Panaracer Evo and a new tube, all good again.

I cleaned out the glass from the Evo on the race wheel before putting it back in the bag - only four small pieces of glass in the rubber, and no cuts apart from where the glass had embedded. Very impressive considering these have had a total of a week of commuting (~300km) and ~170km of racing.

+1, 16.
Something went through the rear... I had ridden through a pile of crap about .5km up the road, looked like something plastic had come off a vehicle and exploded. There was a hole in the tyre and the tube, chucked an instant repair patch on the tyre and stuck yet another tube in.

Obviously, I have pissed off the fairy. Or maybe it's because I ran out of the Panaracer Extreme Duro's. Hopefully, I'll be able to pick up the new version, the "Race Type D", at some point... when they are cheaper, anyway.

Not happy that I am posting again after only one more post since my last :(

This time it's a double puncture both front and rear. Found both flat when I was getting the bike ready to ride to work.

WT now upto 4
Single ride I picked up 2 punctures, my front right tyre, and my rear tyre. Both were found in a similar location to the valve so suss. Didn't find the culprit. Suspect sharp stones tho from where I was riding, in pea gravel tho so go figure

Seems the puncture fairy is out to get me now after I had the thoughts of putting the Schwalbe Marathon Plus back onto my roadie since I'm well enough to ride it again

+1, 17. From Sunday... Clear glass bottle(s) on an on-road cycle lane at the back of Parliament House, a car was passing so I didn't have an option to dodge it. I heard the crunch of broken glass from the rear and about 200m up the road the rear started to bounce due to the nice little spike of glass embedded in the tyre. That fairy is a complete bitch at the moment!

Cold and wet ride this morning. Piece of red flinty rock though the rear Rubino pro slick that came with the bike. Had trouble digging it out with my tweezers due to cold fingers. It was a good excuse to wuss out and ride back home for a hot shower

+1, 18, glass through the Michelin Krylion on the front.

The second the weather warms up, glass everywhere. Bogans should be forced to roll through it naked.
