Question in relation Strava

Postby AKO » Wed Oct 03, 2012 1:34 pm

Hey guys. Quick question about Strava. I just set up an account and installed the app on my phone and have just logged my first event. The thing is I want to delete the event as my 10klm ride at an average speed of 75.6klm/hr was actually achieved using a 93 Ford Fairmont Ghia with ABS as standard (I was testing it all worked as I have had trouble with the GPS on that phone before). So does anyone know a way to delete a ride or event because I want clean data and have also smashed a segment record on the leader board

Should be an edit option which shall provide a remove ride link.

On your phone (android at least) you can press and hold the ride and it pops up a menu including delete.

On the Strava website choose the ride, on the right is the 'actions' drop down which includes delete ride option.

Thanks for the "delete" info as I had to remove myself from the leader board for a similar "car assisted" effort.

Only just joined up today & managed to upload the past 12 months worth of rides in one hit, which was much easier than I expected.

I have a question for all the Strava experts out there. Can my Wife join up on the same email address ?

Guess I should just give it a go & see what happens ?

Well to answer my own question. NO. Comes up with a message "this email address is already taken". Bummer.

I just joined too.
I'll be using my iPhone but also like to use another app for tracking rides (Endomondo). Anyone think it'll be a prob to run both Strava and Endomondo at the same time? I have backup power which gives me triple normal
iPhone battery life so that part should be ok...

I'm pretty sure this won't work on iOS. Can't run 2 apps at once. Happy to be corrected though. I know iOS allows a process to be parked in the background, but AFAIK it's not actually active at all.

Cheers,
Dave

Hi Kenzo,

I think you will be able to upload a ride to one site and then export it and upload it to the other site. I currently upload to both endomondo and strava as I have different friends on each one.

Best luck,
Jason

as long as the ABS wasn't optioned, it should be OK

Well... Running Strava and Endomondo worked!
It used about 15% of my iPhone battery over a one hour ride. I can live with that.... however I did not have 3G mobile data switched on.
Also... Strava lost GPS signal over one section of MTB trail and didn't see the loop at all whereas Endomondo caught it all. ;-)
