help: Scotch Speedster S40 VS Giant OCR 1 ~$1300
Postby Bikeman » Fri May 23, 2008 12:43 am
AS topic, I am looking for a road bike which is around $1300.
I found that the Scotch Speedster S40 and Giant OCR 1 are in this range and with similar Specs.
Please give me some advice for this 2 bikes or others which is ~$1300.

hey bikeman,
i test rode the s40 last weekend, and thought it was pretty good. My LBS didn't need a deposit or anything to let me take it out, they know me pretty well
The bike wasn't set up for me, but I like the brakes and the clean responsivesness of the tiagra. Whippy accelaration, and nice riding position.
Slight harshness through the back wheel, but I'm used to MTB wheels so I guess that's expected. The seat was also a bit low, but again it wasn't set up for a 193cm guy
All in all, pretty impressive machine, but as I'm just getting into road, I don't have much experience.
My advice, just take them for a ride and see what makes you smile.
I'm out looking at the weekend, let us know how you get on.
Cheers

Thanks for all reply and advice. Finally I buy a Giant TCR A2 08, because of a big disscount from one the biggest dearler and my friend got a OCR A.Sport.
Although the Giant 2009 road will come soon after a few months, I still choose this bike b/c I feel boring about my mountain bike and the big discount.
