Ha ha ha... Love it...
I jumped on this topic expecting to see photos of awful jerseys... Not all this stuff about what you should or shouldn't wear...
Really, who cares what you wear while riding, as long as you are on your bike enjoying the freedom & the outdoors. More important things to care about than the jersey you wear.

I did post this as a joke but if people want I could do some through www.eclipsecycling.com They charge $29.99 for a jersey. I have found a better quality image. Also would you want the beer?

As I often with years of riding and road knowledge make a valued and informed judgement and when I feel it is safe for others as well as myself to do so will ride through a red light. I think a campaign by cyclists to demonise me for doing so because of what other road users may think holds about as much weight as what those same road users may think of my attire.
Except that running red lights with any vehicle is illegal. (Wearing particular clothes or jerseys, is not.)
Thats why its frowned upon.
In some ways though, buying the team kit is a way of supporting your favourite team financially. I do have some Garmin stuff that I might wear sometimes (not all the time) which I got directly from the team. It was that lot and a documentary about them ages ago (when they were called Slipstream) that planted the first hints in my mind to take up cycling. It seemed like something that looked like fun that I could do to get fit. Many years later - I damn well love cycling, I'm absolutely addicted to it.
That might be another reason why people wear team kit. That said, you'll never see me wearing a KOM, national-champion or yellow jersey.
Some of the worst ones I've seen were the Liquigas or the old Gerolsteiner kit, if only for the 'too much detail' reason.

Huge cheers to all peeps who have earned them, I owe each and every one of you multiple beers.
