Transperth just reported joondalup line will be still down with bus replacement from Stirling to Whitfords. Good reason to ride in.
Just look out for the buses on Cedric St, really hard to see around.
Joondalup line train still down until Saturday- ride instead

ABC TV is currently running a series called "Great Southern Land"
http://www.abc.net.au/tv/greatsouthernland/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It seems to be a fairly close copy of an excellent BBC series called "Britain From Above". Looking at the promotional advertising, if the next episode (Sunday 7 Oct) follows the BBC line it will show just how fragile some of our vital infrastructure elements are, running close to total collapse. I suspect when I'm watching the upcoming episode I'll be thinking of the Joondalup line failure and saying to myself "Ooooh, yeah."

Last weeks episode was a bit disappointing, the intro spent 5mins on little substance, and the rest was a patchwork of stories that didn't follow any particular theme. Hopefully this Sunday will be better.
There was a noticeable increase on the Mitchell path yesterday. Imagine how bad the roads would be if it wasn't school holidays!
It highlights another advantage of bikes; they are far less reliant on the transport network.

Just road the joondalup psp for the first time today and dog track is the best adjective i can think of. if theyre letting the train line rundown i can't imagine how long it will take to get bike paths upgraded...

A state election is not far away now. Might be a good time to bring this topic of cycling infrastructure up ... again.

BTA is working on hard on this but it needs support. Maybe time to join and help fund the work being done.Joeblake wrote:A state election is not far away now. Might be a good time to bring this topic of cycling infrastructure up ... again.

A lot more cyclists than usual on the Joondalup PSP this morning. Or maybe I was just slower than usual and more were passing me!

Heaps on the way in on Thursday from the south. I think the most that I have seen in a month, though I was also running a little later than normal.
