Excellent article thanks . Should be a sticky in the safety or road cycling subforums on the correct use of carbon clinchers

Could have something to do with different frame sizes? Pretty sure it's one manufacturer and several sellers.Arlberg wrote:Looking at the bike gallery on Velobuild there seems to be at least three different types of FM098 frames going around, the shape of the one in the pictures above looks more like the Mclaren Venge on which it is modelled on than some of the other ones especially the area where the top tube meets the head tube. Are they all from the same manufacturer / seller?

I think maybe newer model is the uglier venge style.Purt wrote:Could have something to do with different frame sizes? with this one:

Purt could be right, it may just be the different frame sizes, but the area around where the top tube head tube and down tube meet just looks too different. I prefer the look of the second one, which also looks much more like the original S-Works Mclaren Venge on which it is supposedly based.

You can tell that the second one is a much bigger frame, based on the size of the wheels. Looks like they stretched the whole frame upwards. Aesthetics aren't helped by the stack of spacers and super-up angle stem.

FSC50-CN
Rim: 50mm clincher 20H/24H external 3k Matt finish
Hubs: EdHubs
Spoke: Sapim CX-Delta black Jbend
Nipple: Sapim Sils red or black
Weight: 1430g+/-30g for one pair
Accessories: 2 pairs brake pads and 1 pair skewers
Price: $546
Going to be my race day wheels, I've only just started racing and I think these are going to be my reward for getting to C grade. Just want to know your thoughts if these are going to make a suitable wheel set for racing? Should I go deeper, there does tend to be a bit of wind around the course most days? The course is flat, no hills there is a small incline but it is nothing, oh and I weigh ~70kg.
I considered tubulars there but these wheels are already pushing my budget, I believe clinchers are less effort to maintain and worry about and I don't mind the ~100g extra.
