Road Bike for a youth - recommendations sought

Postby TonyDragons1 » Sat Oct 06, 2012 11:22 pm

Hi all,

My 12 year old son is expressing a strong interest in road cycling and I'm starting the search for a suitable road bike.

If you can assist with recommendations for a first road bike for a small person (<1.5m) I would appreciate it.

I'm aware that Pinarello and GIANT used to have models in kids sizes but don't know if this is still the case.

Hope you can help.

My suggestion would be to contact your local cycling club. Since kids grow quickly there are always affordable bikes available, and endless advice too And if he wants to race, what better way to start.

Fuji makes kids bikes at a reasonable price. As mentioned above I have a club hand me down for my daughter.
