Online groupset purchase? Is there a website that's renown for having the cheapest groupsets?
Re: Online groupset purchase?Road or MTB?
Re: Online groupset purchase?I used ribble for my group and haven't used them since ( happy, just not the cheapest for other things + postage ). It's not just price, some sites bundle and don;t have some components available etc. etc.

Road.
Who would you recommend if it was just a groupset purchase?
Re: Online groupset purchase?A couple of years ago Bike24 from Germany had the best price for ultegra.
I even got a warranty replacement when one of the shifters malfunctioned.

http://totalcycling.com/index.html Best to look out for specials, sales etc. Recently there was discussion on another forum of a Ribble Campagnolo sale which made it cheaper to buy a gruppo piece by piece than as a set. Unfortunately you can see good offers and they're out of stock. Best to be patient or have various alternatives. This year I purchased a Campagnolo Athena alloy gruppo with 2010 Ultra Torque cranks and Chorus levers piecemeal from Shiny Bikes for $765 plus $40 postage That's pretty reasonable. Re: Online groupset purchase?Ribble were the cheapest I found at the time. I think shiny bikes are a tad cheaper in general but possibly a smaller operation.
Yes, I was pretty happy. It came in packets and they put two Lhand brifter spacers but send me a right one. Happy.
Re: Online groupset purchase?I am also in market for a groupset. I found buying new from Ribble is usually cheaper/reliable than getting 2nd hand or ebay.
Ribble is the cheapest and I have bought a set from them in the past (April in fact), which has been pretty good. Problem is Ribble is always "out of stock"... Guess it's a waiting game. Occasionally there are stores having promotions and bring prices close to ribble, but mostly won't allow you to configure.
Re: Online groupset purchase?Bike24. Tiagra fits your budget...
I ride 25s on the basis that they divide more easily into 100 than 23s.
Re: Online groupset purchase? Thanks for the responses guys.
Re: Online groupset purchase?Have been keeping an eye on various sites here and there (looking at DA 7950 or 2013 SRAM Red), and whilst they are cheaper OS, the duty and GST adds up pretty quick.
e.g. - bike-discount.de is the cheapest I have seen for either groupset mentioned above, but the total price once landed has an extra A$320 or so added to the base price. Recently, CE's prices have been better with their 10% store wide discounts, but I wavered too long the other week, and whilst they had a bigger discouint offer (12.5%), the base price went up. So often, timing AND where you buy it from is the key !! Patience is the main issue, something which I don't have much of at times ... And I've looked at most places ... ad infinitum ...
