Rain jacket, suggestions please

Postby GNU » Fri Oct 05, 2012 9:25 am

Hi everyone,

Looking to buy a packable rain jacket that I can store in my jersey pocket on those Melbourne days when the weather turns suddenly. Had a look at a few of my local stores and they didn't really have anything suited. I'm looking for a fitted road jacket (don't want it to be flapping in the wind or acting like a sail), the budget is $100 max. I'm probably a large, 34-36 inch waist with a 42 inch chest.

Thanks, Dan

Showers pass double century. Light, packs small, blocks wind and rain really well.

Bought mine off bicycling hub.

I have a tineli Rainman which is over your budget though a very well made rainjacket that is quite slim and compact.
Cycling is in my BNA

The Double Century looks great, but they only have them in XL. Which sadly is to large for me :( and not a fan of the transparent one. Had a quick look around and couldn't see anywhere else to purchase the double century....ideas?

That Showers Pass Double Century is the last of the old model, which is why it is is cheap ( was about $120 full price, which was still a good deal, I've had two now)

The new model is call the Double Century EX, which at $160 stands for EXpensive I think . Double Century EX

If the old model XL would fit, snap it up as it's a bargain, but I think it's a little bulky to stuff in a back pocket. Don't know about the new model
