Questions about purchasing bicycles and parts
by glengood » Wed Oct 10, 2012 11:32 am
Hi, I am looking to buy my first Road bike and would like to spend $800-$900 dollars. Wiggle is currently having a special for their new AUD site, and the Boardman Team can be had for $806 dollars until the 18th of October. Can anyone think of a better bike in this price range ? http://www.wiggle.co.uk/boardman-team/

check out bikeexchange too. it's a good source for who has what btw - i like the boardman bikes (was looking at the SLR 9.0 myself) - a workmate and his wife both have a boardman wiggle have service agents - my local service agent has a boardman on show. try yours: Whippets Workshop 11 Stepney Street, Stepney, South Australia, 5069 T: (08) 8363 2497 [email protected]

i think i spend to much time and money here EDIT: I've ridden a team boardman, sadly only through a carpark. felt nice. very solid, responsive.

Cheers - turns out it was a pricing error on wiggle anyway and the bike is actually $1250 delivered, which makes it pretty average - and so I will definately be able to spend more time looking around at some of the models suggested.

Just picked up a 2011 Oppy A4 (Tiagra 9 spd & Mavic Aksium wheelset) for $800 brand new to go on my indoor trainer - as the other half would rather I had N+1 than drag a bike up and down the stairs a few times a week. Reckon I can use it on the trainer for a couple of years and probably still sell it for $600. Rides surprisingly well - just dont try it with a trainer tyre on
