
I think there might be too many people who will try to race it but I guess you just ride on. I don't expect people to be nice just like not all drivers are nice during peak hour.

It's only about 10% longer than doing the direct gong return leg you mentioned + has the advantage of getting me home again. If I do it I'll probably keep it pretty cruisy on the way back, stopping a couple of times etc.
