2012 SL01 - What BB does it use ?

Hi All -

Cant seem to dig up what bottom bracket the 2012 model BMC SL01 uses ??

Anyone help or point me in the right direction ?

I think this means English Thread, 68mm width.

thanks Kenzo - i think you are right mate ....

i wonder what lightweight cranks can be sought for BSA's??

with BB30 there appears to be a lot more on offer ...?

I think you can get into the 500-600 gram area with the lightest BB30 cranksets whereas the lightest cranks using BSA tend to be in 700-800 gram area (both including BB hardware and rings). So you are only about 200g worse off with the BSA crankset.

In the BSA cranksets, SRAM Red are pretty light and a lot of people swear by them. Their older rings were a bit flexy but I think that has been addressed now. Dura Ace is only a little heavier and nothing works better than DA does.
