Things are in the mend. Had a little injury time recently. I think I'm getting better now though.

I've been a little quiet on the forum. I tend to do that a bit.

This morning was windy as all heck! Forget Strava times

If there is a headwind why does it always seem to be at pinch points or up hills? I mean, come on! It's not like I'm slow enough as it is

Or the head wind turns around when you do.

Or even worse, a huge tail wind as you're struggling up a very steep hill, only to find a massive head wind just as you near the crest and you feel as you're working hard just to ride downhill

Peddling down a couple of my normal "hills", and was slowing down due to the head wind this morning.

Today was too hot. And it's only going to get hotter.

You're going to melt along with your bike like a little blob of goo into the tarmac.

I'd suggest a mountain bike & a forest = trees & shade. That's where I'll be going this morning (should have gone out 3 hours ago) & on that note as soon as the sun comes up you go out.

Mountain biking... at night with good lights will yield tonnes of fun and deliver fitness too.
Or as per Comedian's post with riding for transport... My commute is an hour each way and will probably ride it only twice a week.

I'm about to go out & break every Strava segment heading in a westerly direction & then crawl back against these 50km/hr winds. Should be a real hoot !

Heading east don't you mean?? With the winds today you could be blown clear across the bay to Stradie....

Cut short my commute this afternoon to get out of this wind quicker...some of the gusts nearly blew me off my bike, even with me wearing a fully loaded backpack!

OH yeh what a goose, I meant easterly direction.

Anyhoo I'm back in one piece after playing dodge the sticks.

Had an unfortunate interruption to my segment attempt, but giving way to loose kids & dumb pedestrians comes before leader board glory in the interests of safety. Almost came to a complete stop just to make sure all the little devils were safe & out of harms way.

Interesting ride all the same pushing out 250+w at 22km/hr on the flat, then leaning over at about a 10 degree angle (off centre) around the next corner to keep it in a straight line.

BBwwwaaaahh I just had a look at the Strava file & took out 3 kom's. If it wasn't for those (law abiding pedestrians on the shared path) I could have claimed a couple more. (I'm not condoning speeding on a shared path BTW.)
