Here's my FINAL FINAL FINAL setup. I've changed the nipples to 14mm as I found out the threads are the same length as the 12mm's.
Weight - 1,240.4
Price - 374.39 (Including shipping)

they have the same thread length, but they are longer, meaning they'll reach higher on the spoke than 12mm nipples (if that makes sense). they are meant to be used when the rim's spoke bead is deeper or when they have a sharp profile so that 12mm nipples don't reach fully through. Mavic CXP-33 and Velocity DeepV have a very sharp profile PLUS the Velocity DeepV has a joint sleeve that increases nipple depth. Result is that if you are not careful - the bottom of your spoke wrench will scratch the anodized finish when using 12mm nipples.

Basically, the nipple sits to deep in the rim with the wrench flats ending up to close to the rim surface.

the alloy clincher set is practically the same build as what Wilson has, and has a claimed weight that is no where near accurate. The carbon wheels' weight will probably be off just as much and then you'll have to deal with carbon braking surfaces (need another set of brake pads), tubular rims (need to glue tyres on) and potential rim overheating if you don't know what you are doing with them. I'd also be unsure of the build quality of those wheels and the spokes they use... But maybe I'm being too critical... there seems to be plenty of happy people with these cheap and cheerful carbon wheels so they must be okay... The alloy clinchers however will be well overweight because the hubs and spokes aren't very light. The rim is the same as what Wilson wants to use

Ummm..... So you mean the nipple will be sticking up INSIDE the rim?

Oh, ok. Right now ive changed to some alloy 12mm nipples for less weight, ill be uploading my new setup tonight. Plus, im using VeloPlugs instead of normal rim tape

They're less likely to strip threads during the build and they won't electrolytic weld onto the spokes over time.

The main reason I choose alloy nipple is due to the minimal weight. Brass nipples weighs nearly twice as more.

I'd use red veloplugs for kinlin rims, but the Kinlin rims vary in spoke hole sizes per batch so it may take red or yellow. My first choice would be cloth rim tape. I would also recommend brass nipples for durability, they are only 20g heavier (thats 20 paperclips)

I sent a email to BHS regarding the veloplugs and they assured me that the yellow ones would work.

As far as the alloy nipples, I dont really ride in wet weather, so i guess it's fine?

Should be, but brass nipples are harder to round off, so with alloy nipples you could round them off if you don't know what you are doing and if you need to re-true a wheel its less of a pain with brass nipples

Wilson - use the brass nipples. Your strategy of asking for (and receiving very good) advice, then blatantly ignoring it, has consequences which far outweigh the 30 something gram weight saving you're after.

+1 on the brass nipples. I got alloys with my first build - rookie mistake. Some of them rounded off, and when I was truing the wheel, it became a nightmare to true - almost impossible with some of the rounded nipples. I ended up having to start over again with brass ones.

+1 for spoke prep, I use linseed oil, but not too many people are a fan on linseed oil. I have to use it on my cricket bat so I have gotten used to it

I'd also add that you could be riding the braccianos by now, had you bought them.
