New Wheels

Postby r2160 » Fri Oct 12, 2012 2:39 pm

Hi all

Thinking of some new wheels and been looking at these (looking at clinchers).

Or what about Mavics, or Pro Lites?

Any opinions? What about weight limits? I currently weigh 85kg's

All opinions gratefully accepted!

cheers
Glenn

No problems with Pro-Lite from my perspective Glenn, solid with good hubs tho' mine are heavier than your limit. They will have something to suit.

Depending on the batch you get... I bought a pair from you guys recently and they were a tad over 1500g without skewers.

There isn't really much batch variation. The advertised weight is the bare wheels without rim tape and spoke braces - I'm guessing you had tape and braces fitted?

The last set I checked were 1482g on a calibrated scale.

Yes I included tape & braces - thought the listed weights just excluded skewers (you don't state what the weights include on your website).

FYI, your listed weights are: Front 618 g / Rear 864 g
My weights were: Front 639 g / Rear 865 g

Only the rear has the spoke braces so its strange that my front wheel was significantly heavier than your listed weight :?

That's a good price on a very good wheelset, though weight weenies list the RS80s as just on 1500g.

FWIW I went with the braccianos and I weigh 85kg. Very happy with the wheels.
