Re: Bike Gallery
new ride is going well - de-stickered the thing yesterday. cockpit adjustments also required (have a shorter stem to try in my hand right now)
Re: Bike Gallery
Have to say very nice
Re: Bike GalleryThat new oppy is seriously cool, i really like the new headtube too, the old hourglass shape didn't do anything for me. I reckon the new one would look even better with the carbon rims you had on the old one.

Re: Bike GalleryThose carbon clinchers are dead, they only lasted 5 months.
The frame is great, the BB is ridiculous, def improves the stiffness. The previous frame was outstanding for long seated climbs, yet to see how the new one goes. Support my Ride to Fight MS!

Re: Bike GalleryI wore out the braking surface, and had ongoing rear wheel durability issues.
They didn't suit my style of riding more than the wheels being inferior. re tires, I just don't like colour, and I'm a Conti man. Support my Ride to Fight MS!

Re: Bike Gallery
You sir need more drink bottles haha. I barely drink water when i'm riding so that lot would last me years haha. 65kg is a fair bit to carry around, thats like having someone on the back of a tandem and the other person not doing any pedalling. Very impressive indeed. Do you get many flats on your journey? GOALS FOR THIS YEAR
1. Save up for a JC70 Recumbent Trike 3. Rack up a lot of KM Training 2. Attend 250km Bupa 2013
Re: Bike GalleryWater? That's only 3 L in the bottles. On days like this one (39 degrees later) we went through all of that water and twice over !! You would as well. In the red panniers I had two 10L water bags with ~ 12L in them. This was enough for our overnight camping needs.
The total luggage load was a heavy haul. At the maximum load of 65 kgs, for about 7-8 days between resupply and up to 3 days between water points, I could not actually lift my rear wheel off the ground (without doing a serious back injury). 25kgs of all my camping gear, 23L of water = 23 kgs, and then food for up to 8 days = ~15 kgs.
