Ooh a Fellini, i picked up one of those a little while ago, not too many of them about. IMO the stem definitely looks out of place, i reckon a black quill stem would look good.

So technically it's neither fixed nor SS

I'm not seeing a cable or shift lever though, so at least atm it's a SS with coaster brake .

I got my new fixie up and running today.

It's a Trek Earl frame with bits off my old Felt Dispatch. Running 42-16 fixed.

Spin, Spin. It's actually a nice looking conversion to my eye. Geometry would make it a cruisy comfy ride no doubt. Trippy looking TT.

Doing the Sydney to Gong on it next month so need some gearing. I have done twice before with 39-16 and spun out too much on the flat.

I think they did the top tube so you can a u lock

46/16 is spot on for Brisbane (for me) spin out a bit, but to still be able to hit a hill or five.

At 120kgs I need all the help I can get to get up hills

Thanks for the words guys, I have ridden it everyday since I built it and am enjoying it immensely.

I like it, really clean no fuss look. I would recommend having two brakes, and if you want to stick with one you're much better to have it on the front. My first SS had only a front brake and i had some slightly nervous moments with it.

Part of me agrees with dan about the hanger but single speeds look much better without them and if it means the bike actually gets used then so be it.

Man I don't ride over 20 km/h anyway haha. One brake is good enough for this. Yeah hacking the frame never bothered me, I saved it from being landfill and will ride it into the ground (hmmm, that analogy doesn't quite work lol) I love it.

it looks like a really neat effort for a (first?) build over a one week uni break.

First build that isn't a BMX/Dragster. Loving the 'bigger' bikes already. Looking for the next candidate now, a slightly smaller frame I think ...The bikes in this thread have got me hooked.

Nah, waaay to small for Moi. Happy with my Bundy track , and planning another build/conversion for street use as we speak. You still gonna be fixed or moving on to gears and ditching the Fixed scene?

Built this for my GF a few weeks ago...

Campagnolo Shamal Track Clincher Wheelset, Campy Pedals, Dura Ace Cranks, BB and other bits...




Anyway, it was too big, which is why we had it set up as a townie.

I bought another Bike her size, swapped all the bits over. Fits her a lot better, and now I have a Hillman Roadie and her a Hillman Track. We will Strip it down completely for a lick of paint thats a little more female friendly and grab some new decals off Hillman.

Hopefully once she's used to riding fixed from SS i'll get her out on the track. With some drops of course.

48 x 16 = perfect for Adelaide
It's my first experience with fixed gear and it goes like a dream. Chainline dead straight on putting it together (far more good luck than good management).

Still got the Pursuit. Very under-ridden though. Every time I think about selling it I take it for a ride and really like how it handles and end up keeping it. Also I'd hate to see it chopped for a fixie. As you know it's getting harder and harder to find old steelies, particularly ones that have seen so little use.

Picked up this ugly duckling for a general purpose street fixed. Got it on a model runout sale for less than the cost of building something from purchased and used parts in the bin. been awhile since I had a brand newie anyway. Definitely function over form, with this beast. Despite it's wacky looks it's a very comfy and enjoyable ride. Stripped all the decals from the wheels, fitted a better saddle and post, removed the rear brake.
