ACF Strava ClubRe: ACF Strava ClubHoly mackerel, compared to my usual pre work ride of only 15.7! I'm not sure i'm too keen to try and break the 100 point barrier!

Re: ACF Strava Club
Impossible for someone like me. I doubt I could do the ride you just did. I would like to crack 50 one day. Well done you.
Re: ACF Strava ClubMaybe you need to change the calculation mate, to give us a chance?

Re: ACF Strava Club
There's two type of people in this world - those that say they can and those that say they can't. They're both right. You'll do it one day Norbs. Maybe schedule in a really long ride? Throw in a hill or three? 2010 BMC SLC01
Re: ACF Strava Club
Lets look at it. You get 20 points for each 1000m climbed and 10 points for each 100km ridden. Given Im not a very good climber, and I can barely do a 200km ride, it doesnt look good. 100km ride with 4500m climbing. Nope. 150km ride with 4250m climbing. Nope. 200km ride with 4000m climbing. Nope. Chances = zero. Really, it was the whole idea of the NPCCI, to make getting 100 an epic ride.
Re: ACF Strava ClubI do have to admit that i cheated a bit by having a 28-30 bottom gear. Honestly i'm not that fit, i reckon any half serious rider could do it, just a matter of keeping the food and motivation up. Certainly brought down to earth by my recovery ride tonight, only 8 points

Re: ACF Strava ClubNorbs, with the amount you have ridden so far this year, I'd dare to say you are far from unfit.
And with those kms under your belt, a ride like the Alpine Classic would certainly not be out of your league. And there's a NPCCI of 100+ 2010 BMC SLC01
Re: ACF Strava ClubI don't know what you blokes are whinging about. Most of my rides are flat out getting into double digits because of the sheer flatness of the landscape in my part of the world...even a 200 plus km ride in a day around here would only rate in high 20s low 30's (and it'd damn near kill me)
Ours is not to reason why...merely to point and giggle
Re: ACF Strava Club
Or 3PC, which is 108.63... For NPCCI chasers there is always Fitz's 255 km in late October... I'm doing the 205 km version; but I doubt whether that will be a higher NPCCI than 3PC. ![]()
Re: ACF Strava ClubI've started flagging Juan Pelota's rides, and I may have crashed the Strava server?

It's those close ones, or second places, that really bug and motivate you. Soon! ![]()
Re: ACF Strava Club
Classic. I ride 25s on the basis that they divide more easily into 100 than 23s.
Re: ACF Strava ClubThis Strava thing is hilarious. My Wife & I only joined up a couple of weeks ago & uploaded about 18 months of rides direct from the Garmin.
Well I have about 3 KOM's from 14,000km travelled Didn't realize just how revealing it all is. Doing side by side comparisons & now trying to flog myself on random roads & tracks. Is there a term for that ? Strava Tourette's perhaps. Gas propulsion.......it's natural don't fight it.
Re: ACF Strava Club
Loch, you can always just make your own KOM segment I ride 25s on the basis that they divide more easily into 100 than 23s.
Re: ACF Strava Club
That is the biggest negative of Strava, it can change the way people ride. So many of my group rides now contain surging efforts (AT) 100% Support my Ride to Fight MS!

Re: ACF Strava Club
You've been Stravafied. Once you can climb hills on a bike it's all downhill.
Hopefully I'll know what that's like..... one day. ![]()
Re: ACF Strava Club
+1 I've only got 1 KOM (I hold it by 1 second but it's 1600kms away so can't do anything about it). I'm second on one after a huge effort last week by 1 damn second. The guy leading it is a VERY VERY good rider. To be within 1 second of him, I'm happy. But damn it, I'm going to find that time!
Re: ACF Strava Club
That is a bit funny ![]()
Re: ACF Strava Club
Yea there's a couple of hills that haven't got segments yet, but it's not quite the same When man invented the bicycle he reached the peak of his attainments- Elizabeth West.

Re: ACF Strava ClubHi All,
Anyone here doing the Cannondale Oktoberfest challange? Im thinking that there are a few people hacking the challange! for example one rider has completed 24 hours on 1 ride?? ![]()
Re: ACF Strava Club
Nah, not me... I can't imagine Tim Johnson doing 60 hours in 3 weeks either ( especially at this time of the year ) ... too Audaxy for me
