Spotted a special - Post it in here!Re: Spotted a special - Post it in here!I don't think $325 is such a good deal for the Bracciano's. I suspect they only cost $250 to produce, and thats not taking into account the fact that pro-lite can bulk buy the components... each wheel might only cost them $200 to produce... But compared to all the other factory wheels, it is a good deal

Can't tell if you're being facetious or not. Should companies run on zero profit??? Or should they just be a free service? 2011 Orbea Onix | Giant Defy Commuter | Giant XTC 29er
Re: Spotted a special - Post it in here! What I'm trying to say is, if I buy all of the parts separately, it comes out to $250. Since I am buying from another re-seller they still need to make a profit out of me (and the manufacturer needs to make a profit out of the re-seller etc.). I assume from this that Pro-Lite must be making a fair bit from each wheel, especially if they can buy the parts in bulk at a lesser price. Compared to other companies I guess pro-lite's profit margin is lower, but their R,D and technology/marketing seem to be too.

If you can produce the same product delivered to me for $250 including taxes with a warranty you'll back, I'll give you an order for 200 sets to get your business started. The Bracciano's are a gift at the price we normally sell them at, with what we've done today - the price is ridiculous and its not a sustainable business practice. To those who've picked up a bargin, good on you Our Website is: http://www.pro-liteoz.com Find us on Facebook by searching for "Pro-Lite Australia"
Re: Spotted a special - Post it in here!
Cool! I'll have a set for $250! Do you take credit card? Can it be on the courier today? I'm assuming from your comments you won't need money for your time in building or selling them. In all seriousness though, there are plenty of things that are heaps cheaper to do yourself, if you don't add a value for your time, the skills involved or the need to make a living from it. 2011 Orbea Onix | Giant Defy Commuter | Giant XTC 29er

Re: Spotted a special - Post it in here!
For a sale price of $500, Pro-lite International (the MFG) would be sourcing at $50-100ish per wheel, including labour. This doesn't include setup, design, R&D, warrantee claim costs which I assume are reasonably large. So you're probably looking at a cost, all up, of $150. Being generous with those above sunk costs. Manufacturer, distributor, and retailer tend to markup 50-100%. Retailers aim for 100%. Manufacturers and distros tend to mark up less because they move large quantities, and take less risk than a shop does. But the same thing is going on here as any other locally sold brand. The Aussie distro just don't get a very good deal (relatively speaking) from pro-lite international, because they can't move enough product.
Re: Spotted a special - Post it in here!
when they were selling for the same price as CRC - see here, I don't know about that...
Re: Spotted a special - Post it in here!Hi all,

I've got lights from DX. a mate's mate has bought clothes. he said quality was good.
Re: Spotted a special - Post it in here!
Good thinking. You could get a nice bike if you have twins before the cutoff! Once you can climb hills on a bike it's all downhill.
Hopefully I'll know what that's like..... one day. ![]()
