Sadly last week was a once off, the next chance i might have to get a saturday off work probably won't be til winter. Such is life, otherwise i have an almost inexhaustible supply of bikes to take down and destroy :D .

Sundays on the other hand, i have available usually once a month. If anyone is keen on doing o'reilly's though, i am keen as mustard to get back down there as soon as possible. Amazing riding, and not as daunting as it sounds.

pass.
personally, i prefer saturdays, but if the majority say "yeah saturdays suck - we should do sundays" then i'm cool with that.
either way, it's always going to be a first-thing-in-the-morning ride.

Agree, gotta be a morning thing (even though it sucks when I'm on night or afternoon shift).

Agree, afternoons are for drinking beer not coffee.

Agree, bike with brifters suck (oh I thought I read that somewhere, maybe I just thought it)

munga made it around despite his bronchitis.

dan looked resplendid in his colourful jersey.

dan's mate redrover3 (there ya go munga, sorry mate I wasn't aware of your forum name) rode a very pretty bike (look for it in the video)

Idr had a spring break in his rear derailleur on his bike (was amusing for us watching him do the cyclo-cross run jobby on the last few big climbs, well funny for us, not sure how he felt about it.)

elantra once again showed me how well he goes up anything resembling a slope (and how freaking bad I am at doing the same).

we also had Zynster on his Coppi along again.

And yours truly (Mr Pottymouth) slowing everyone else down by lagging behind on anything looking remotely like an upwards slope.

Number 8 http://youtu.be/vshI6iX4A3Y" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also had an incident a bit later in the day, when I got home I decided my legs weren't quite burnt out yet, so grabbed the EPO bike & went for another ride, going along Eatons Crossing Road I felt a shudder from the back of the bike, I just thought I'd run over a bit of loose tar (if you've ridden that road you will know how bad the surface is), about a minute or so later I realised that the backs of my legs were wet, a ute (white with aluminium tray, Toyota I think) had just past me, I'm assuming that someone in the ute may have thrown a bottle of water or similar at me, I'm guessing it hit the seat stay. Wasn't wearing the cam as it was downloading (unfortunately otherwise I'd be giving it to the cops), so if you ride around this area just be a little aware (not that you can see behind you!), I'm now thinking about mounting the little camera facing backwards on the helmet, just in case this sort of garbage ever happens again.
Thanks for sharing the vids - number 8 features me of course  And credits to Lochie for your resolve and then to do the Canungra ride.

I am back from my quick trip to Melbourne. Rearing to go on Raturday of course.
Inspired by all those loonies who i saw trying to complete the circumnavigation of Port Philip Bay on sunday.
Towards the end of the day i saw the stragglers coming home along St Kilda parade about 7pm - about 12 hours after start.
They were battling against a ferocious headwind and fading light, after more than 200 km !

Were my nuts loose??????? :? :? :? :?

Must have been all that gear I did before we started, didn't even know that I was loose again.

Yeah Jason, it was elantra that had the loose headset, I actually tampered with it before we started  , it was the only way I could keep up with him on the climbs, plus being on the gear.

jasonc, i give you permission. 8) were you chilling in the corner with a vintage looking (maybe red, maybe santini?) jersey?

ps: i think elantra had a loose quill stem. old bikes, hey..

highlight for me today was feeling like garbage and dropping off the back at every opportunity, yet upon checking my strava during lunch, i'd hit pb's on 19 of 26 segments.
the last time i turned strava on was 12 weeks ago, so we're all getting fitter, no doubt about it!

elantra - symbicort: will talk to GP on tuesday.

wal - sms'd you my address.

tony - velocity razor. also, my raleigh is in love with your berretto. if any blue babies come along, we'll know why.

munga wasn't really dropping off the back as much as moi 'serging' (my middle name is Serge) all the time, my fault as I was riding the late model bike (05 Trek EPO Sevice team bike), it's a bit like playing playstation, you don't need to be particularly skilled to ride very fast.

Jason, so you were wearing beige shorts & a red top? On a Fuji, I think (just me I don't notice modern bikes, sort of just fall into a blind spot in my eyesight), you should have ragged us some more, or atleast come over & introduced yourself.

Thank's for the address mate, I'll bring said tube spanner around Friday & we'll fix that sucker.

Can you talk about that !!! spammer !!! stuff on this family-friendly forum? :? :? :? :?

Not sure if the English Raleigh would be interested in that 'Colonial' Berretto
