Middle pocket iPhone and pump.
Righ pocket 4 Allen keys, one tyre lever, chain breaker, 2co2 cans and a head... In another sock.
Food shared around if needed.
Nothing on the bike... Tried a saddle bag a few times but it wrecked my Knicks.

If a bag has straps that go around the saddle's rails it could, i know my nicks have well and truly rubbed off writing/marks that were on mine.gorilla monsoon wrote:How does a saddlebag wreck knicks? When I ride my knicky bits never touch the saddle bag and vice versa.

Personally I don't understand the following comment.
Is that on any ride? I don't race or do group rides (basically because I don't get out of bed before 7:30am as I finish work at 1am and I work weekends) so I don't talk to many other riders in real life about what's acceptable. If your not racing, who cares where you carry what ever equipment. It's not like you have save weight to gain an extra 0.1kph over what ever ride distance. It's vital to always carry as much as you can in your pockets, otherwise it just makes your bike heavy.
Also once your sitting on your bike, it doesn't matter if your equipment is in a saddle bag or rear jersey pockets, your still pushing the same weight regardless of where it's located.
I have a largish saddle bag. It holds 3 spare tubes, 3 C02 canisters, a multi-tool and two tyre leavers. I also have a Lezyne bike pump on my down tube. I had a good talk with my LBS many moons ago after my first series of flats, as I found it difficult to pump up my tyres with my then bike pump to a satisfactory tyre pressure. Turns out many hand pumps struggle to pump over 80-90 psi. I used my Lezyne hand pump for the first time two weekends ago, turns out I pumped my rear tyre to around 120 psi. I usually ride at around 110 psi.
Have two water bidons on my bike. In my rear jersey pockets I carry my gate buzzer in the rear left pocket. If I'm riding over 80km, I'll carry a bar/banana/gel (depends on how far I'm riding as to what combination I carry) in my middle rear pocket. Right rear pocket I have $20, credit card, phone and keys all packed in to my sunnies bag.

Spare tube and tyre levers plus phone, credit card, cash in saddlebag; if I'm riding to work my specs are in there as well.
Need to cut the velcro strap on my saddlebag ... same problem for me with rubbing on the nicks.

There was an article I read about 12 months ago where they proceeded to show that live weight had less of an effect on speed than static weight.briztoon wrote:

In other words carrying the weight on the body compared to carrying the weight on the bike appeared to be better especially hill climbing or sprinting while standing, as then the extra weight exerted additional pressure on the pedals.
While I kind-of took the whole thing with a grain of salt it did seem to make some sense.

Pump, phone, money, 2 tubes, house keys etc.. depending on the length of the ride. Muesli bars and a banana if I'm riding for a few hours. Saddle bag has another tube, levers and allen keys. For road cyclists, pls share your most innovative & efficient way... what do you bring while riding apart from water bottles? (credit card, mobile phone, tools, energy bars) & how do you cary them? (saddle bag, pocket, etc.).

Tool bottle on down tube -multi tool , work pass to open gate, keys.
When I write all that down it is no wonder I am slow - ask the same tomorrow and there will most likely be less.

I just figured it was a joke because it sounded silly!briztoon wrote:

For me, I have a saddle bag with 2 x co2 canisters & head, 2 x tubes, lezyne mini multi tool, $5 note.
If I'm not commuting (with a backpack) I squeeze my phone, keys and credit card in there too. Tight fit but it works.
Food goes in jersey pockets.

A grain? I'd have wanted a salt cellar.greyhoundtom wrote: There was an article I read about 12 months ago where they proceeded to show that live weight had less of an effect on speed than static weight.

Lighter is always better. Lighter accelerates faster.
Having more pressure on the pedal is great, but you'd need t raise the weight back up for the next pedal stroke.
Was it an April 1 article, or have I just earned one of these?
