That was my thought too Andrew
Re: ERW - Airless Bicycle TyresAirless bicycle tyres will work when someone finds a material with density and elastic hysteresis similar to air. Good luck in your search.
Nobody younger than 27 has experienced a month with temperatures lower than the 20th century global monthly average.
Re: ERW - Airless Bicycle TyresWonder how much mud they will hold?
Unless you are at the front of the pack the view's the same.
Re: ERW - Airless Bicycle TyresOOOOOooh, an Anthem! Pretty!
Ours is not to reason why...merely to point and giggle
Re: ERW - Airless Bicycle TyresMichelin did some car tyres about 15 years ago. They didn't catch on either. Funny that. I mean, they company invented a product that would ultimately put it out of business. How dumb was that?

Re: ERW - Airless Bicycle TyresThe Tweel? http://auto.howstuffworks.com/tweel-airless-tire.htm
Michelin officially launched them yesterday. After years of development, you can finally purchase a set of these ...if you drive a skid steer loader. They even have a website: http://www.michelintweel.com/ volutamus scandemus
Re: ERW - Airless Bicycle Tyres
Sort of like Apple killing off the iPod with the Touch (which is basically a phone handset without the phone-y bits)? It might be a company seeing the writing on the wall, and wanting to own the new product that kills off its old product. The tweel doesn't replace tyres, just changes them as it's still a product that will wear out and need replacing. My bike blog. Long on rumination, rambling and opinion. Why let facts ruin everything?

Re: ERW - Airless Bicycle TyresSo i get to the end of the trail, onto the bitumen and i want to up the tire pressure a bit and.......oh yea oops.
When man invented the bicycle he reached the peak of his attainments- Elizabeth West.
Re: ERW - Airless Bicycle TyresCreek crossing's gonna be a whole new world of wetbackery. What sorta tread pattern will they run? Can't see a Conti fan running Kenda treads...
...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.
