but what's with the cyclist not being able to be identified? carry some ID people, phones are useless if they get smashed as is likely the case here going by the pics. the ID should be indelible in every way, engraved metal being the best option IMO like a RoadID (google it).

hope the rider recovers and the party who did wrong learns something.
+1 to everything said.

I carry 2 forms of ID - one similar to the RoadID, and my blood donor card.

Ride safe everyone

Hi guys, long time reader, first time poster :D

I'm new to cycling, decided it was time to get off the couch. When I head out I always have my phone, ID, Medicare card, bank card and cash... You just never know what's around the corner :?

In the case of this cyclist he did have ID and fellow riders with him that performed CPR but the media did not to identify him for the privacy of his family.

The cyclist in question was carrying ID and was riding with three others.
His identity was not released to the public at the request of the other riders who are both friends and colleagues.

This was, in fact, good reporting on the part of the media for respecting the wishes of the family.

Any further reports on outcome? Last I heard (at work) he was still ventilated in ICU, and all the rumors of withdrawal of treatment were false... All the reports of the accident I have heard were quite incorrect... Sad to hear this happen to a nice (or any) fella...
