Happy thread

Postby tuco » Fri Feb 09, 2007 9:59 am

I started a complaint thread so here's the other half - a happy thread.

We have sunshine today :D :D :D :D :D

First time for 12 days. Not a cloud in the sky and dead calm.

It's gonna be a great cycling weekend. I've even had my hair cut so I'll be more streamlined.

We had a cooler day yesterday and the concrete was not in a molten state and today seems cooler so far.

The smoke seems to have cleared from the bushfires and the air is clearer.

My bike is screaming "ride me!"

What a happy thread :D

Dam! this is the happy thread, so I can't make some sort of smart comment.

Enjoy your rest day Peter.

Just went across the car park to buy some lunch.

After all this dreary weather it was like being on holidays. Nice and warm 31C and a light southerly breeze keeping the humidity down to 45%

It's a crime to be stuck at work.

Only 5 hours to go.

And tell them it's a new ergonomic seat? Might just work, some of them would believe me.

I've just got in from a little ride into the countryside, just about 34K nothing too strenuous. It's very hot now here. heard on the news someone was bitten by a brown snake in Melbourne suburbs this morning. Thankfully the only snake I have seen is a dead one. I went onto the Yarra trail, towards the city, it's nice by the river, and even tho this is just my 4th day in the saddle I have noticed some improvement. Some of the hills are less Everest like. I hope this weekend you all get to go out and enjoy a ride. I'm not out again till tuesday, what with shopping, BBQ party sat. night, Sunday , day of rest, and Monday morning hospital appointements. just some tests but I have to have a 12 hour fast before hand. Joy.

Not really the right place for this as it is a :D happy thread :D but since I started it I'm the boss.

In the last year I've seen 6 snakes, 5 alive and last week 1 drowned.
The happy part is I haven't ridden over one yet, been close though. I always worry about them getting pissed off and thrown into the pedals and my legs.

This is the happy thread, but while we are talking about snakes, I actually saw one fall out of the sky about 20 metres in front of me once.

The kookaburras catch them, then fly up to a great height and drop them on something hard, usually the road.

I had some UK cycle tourists going with this tale and they are worried about snakes falling from the sky now.

i bought the 2002 bianchi XL EV2 in the olympic colours, as an upgrade to the current frame that i have which is a bianchi cromoly mega pro in the celeste and mango colours. I've never ridden an alloy frame before so i hope it to be better than what i currently have.

My last MTB was an Alloy Framed beastie and I do miss it!

I hope your Lycra matches the frame!

For a MTB the Alloy was great, very strong , incredably light, but still flexible enough. At the time i had it shocks were'nt available, well they were for a price. Wish I'dd never sold the thing now.

I have no experience of cromoly, but I think someone is bound to jump in sooner or later.
I buy alot on Ebay, got my current MTB off it, and most of the spairs, also Ebay is xcellent for my other hobbies, which also have been bought off Ebay. ! LOL

Being of the madman cycle tourist persuasion, I prefer cromoly, but I'm currently riding half aluminium and half cromoly.
