Hi All,
Looking at a new bike (TT Bike) that is fitted with 2012 Sram Red.
I wanted to be able to use the wheels currently on my rodie (Zipp 404 FC clinchers) that have a DA 9700 cassette on them. I would like to have the situation where the wheels are fully interchangeable between the two bikes.
Anyone able to tell me if this is likely to be possible?
Cheers in advance,
SW

10 speed Dura Ace cassettes have exactly the same spacings as SRAM... You may need to recheck the derailleur levels, that's all.
For that matter 10 speed Campag cassettes also work perfectly with 10 speed shimano or SRAM.

Thanks TLL, sounds like it will be an easy option!toolonglegs wrote:10 speed Dura Ace cassettes have exactly the same spacings as SRAM... You may need to recheck the derailleur levels, that's all.

I've always found you need a small adjustment tweak if swapping between a Shimano & Sram cassette on the same bike. I'd sell the Sram cassette while its new and put a Shimano one on there as you'll end up with a better chance of swapping wheels without any adjustment.SpinninWheels wrote:Hi All,

Absolutely no probs.
Just did it on the test of the Azzurri Mezzo 90.
Swapped trhe XG-1090 cassette (11-23) for a DA-7800 (12-27), and 1.5 turns on the cable adjuster at the RD anmd all was sweet

that may be the offset, i.e. where the cassettes sit relative to the freewheel, rather than any difference in spacing between cogs (which is the important factor).jacks1071 wrote:I've always found you need a small adjustment tweak if swapping between a Shimano & Sram cassette on the same bike.
