Re: Paint Codes
You posted lots of pictures with numbers, but I interpret those numbers as reference for the whole scheme.. Not color codes. As those numbers do not refer to any specific color at all, nor do they lead to directions of how to reproduce that color. All i can come up with , after I look up that number , is just 'a' model with 'a' paint scheme. A paint scheme that contains multiple colors, not just one, but more. So you would need at least a set of 5 'color codes' . But all you got is one number. If I am wrong, feel free to correct me, but I dont think they are color codes, but they are paint schemes numbers. Re: Paint Codes
I think you are right here. I took paint code # / paint scheme # to mean the same thing but as painter damhooli I'd listen to your logic any day......... "Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana" - Groucho Marx

Re: Paint Codes
Let me put it this way, a paint scheme can have a color code(s). but a color code cant have a paint scheme... But I can also understand how it can come across as the same for non painters... Hopefully I am not being too pedantric here, by saying they are not paint codes.. The dutch have one word to describe the aussie MHL, this word is ;

Re: Paint CodesToo pedantic? On the interwebs? Surely that isn't possible
To me a code is only useful if you can take it to a painter who can make up paint to match. As an example one of my favourite car colours is Sebring Blue, but unless the painter has the Dulux sheet that says how to make the colour, it doesn't help much. It is tough enough with old cars, but there are far fewer people re-spraying old bikes. So damhooligan what information would you need in order to reproduce a colour or indeed a colour scheme? I was going to buy a fast, stylish bike, but I looked in the mirror & thought "you're not fooling anyone, you know"
Re: Paint CodesJohan, i concede. didn't give it any thought, but yes, these are colour schemes.

Re: Paint Codes
You need a formula , that tells you how to mix the color. for example, http://www.kia-forums.com/attachments/k ... ormula.jpg I did a search for car color sebring blue, But could not find anything, otherwise I would have showed you that formula.. 99% of all color contain more then 3 tinters/colors. So unles you know how much you need , and from what color, it could be a long time before you can match the color. The dutch have one word to describe the aussie MHL, this word is ;
