So the old bike that I picked up at an auction has more wrong with it than I previously thought. Not worth fixing, also I'm 176cm and its about a 60cm frame. Miles to big.
So I was looking at getting a new bike but the budget is tight. I've narrowed it down to three that I like brand new, but I'm open to suggestions. I dont really want to spend over $700.
Merida Ride 91 (2011) - $749 (Sora)
Scott Speedster S50 (2011) - $699 (Sora/2300)
Malvern Star Oppy A2 (2012) - $650 (2300)
Or should I go second hand? I have found a trek 1.1 for $500, or the Malvern Star in the link below? not sure which model it is.

Cheers for the help.

The Malvern Star is likely to be a Oppy A5 if it has shimano 105 groupset. Likely to have carbon forks and seatpost. I have the 2010 model. You might find that the frame is a bit small for you though, I'm 178cm tall and I think mine is a large 56cm

Thanks for the reply!
Unfortunately I have a short inseam (29") so I think a small frame might have to be the way I go as at the moment my seat is as low as it can go.
Is there much difference to a novice between 2300 and Sora groupsets?
Cheers
