Hi, i'm selling this alloy Europa, built by Technicomps. i'm guessing early 90's. too big, need the room, out it goes.
pics:
seat tube 56cm c-c top tube 57cm c-c
wishbone rear stays 7sp 105 components all decals in good nick dirtier than your other half brand new shimano 6400 brake pads and regreased bottom bracket (no pitting) campagnolo headset araya rims
this bike will need going over - wheels need attention, needs cables throughout, tyres&tubes. will make for a very nice bike if you spent a weekend and a few $$ on it. suit someone with some spares (and some spare time) in the shed. would make a good commuter/spare bike $150 as is
also, any idea of condition of drivetrain? chain skipping? $150 seems like a super buy! this is a bump and a "get yer act together Bris-locals and buy this". I remember those 7sp 105 shifters having a wonderful THUNK of an index.
cr-mo fork - bit more supple, bit more weight. everything's a trade-off. drivetrain's fine. i had this group on my shogun until the weekend and moved it all across to the europa. shogun now sports some new campagnolo veloce. cranks aren't pretty, but they function as well as they should. if i don't get a bite this week, i'll invest a few hours over the weekend cleaning it up, take some more pics, and adjust the ad accordingly.
realistically, you're buying this as a project, almthough you could get this on the road with new cables, bartape, tyres and tubes.
Interested in that I like it, but I'm short on cash at the moment, moving house and all. But I like the components and the price.
When it says "alloy", it's a steel frame? It's simply referring to it being a CrMo alloy?
I have a current steel frame project that's close to good other than the dinged up frame and superfantastic paintwork, I might come riding with you guys on your Saturday morning loop and discuss then if that's ok.
Its alloy GTRmon, like that used in new entry level frames. Not steel, except for the fork, which is cromoly (i think this is discussed a few posts up?)
Go on - its a good deal.
I ride 25s on the basis that they divide more easily into 100 than 23s.
Hey munga man, would you flog me the frame and keep the other parts?
So we get the leaders we deserve and we elect, we get the companies and the products that we ask for, right? And we have to ask for different things. – Paul Gilding but really, that's rubbish. We get none of it because the choices are illusory.
yours still looks very bright Munga, I have the "orange flouro'" with full C' Victory. All has faded except where the cable tie bands for the trip 'puter was As bright as my Hi vis work shirts which makes it hillarious to commute on Hi Vis bike to match my shirts
E'- I haven't taken any pics but will when it is dug out, 10 deep under a tarp atm

You could ask cyclomondo to make some up - this style of decal (actually, stickers) was on on my Europa post 3rd paint job, but I've reverted to the period version for the rebuild. I didn't see this version in Greg's, well, catalogue, though...
