Bike Mechanic

Postby anniegray » Fri Nov 16, 2012 9:38 am

Hi,

I am sad, my regular bicycle store and favourite bicycle mechanic are packing up and moving interstate. So I am on the hunt for a new lbs and mechanic.

I live in Ipswich and work in Spring Hill in Brisbane, so the obvious choice is the Yellow Jersey in Ipswich who I know are great, but I feel bad because I did not buy my bike from the Yellow Jersey. Also I am already at work in Spring Hill when the Yellow Jersey opens for business, so dropping the bike off for servicing in the morning is a problem. Lifecycle is the closest bike shop to work, has anyone had experience with their servicing? Or, can anyone make a reccomendation.

I would be greatful for any thoughts and or suggestions.

Thanks,

Annie

I've been to the workshop at Lifecycle a few times and they've always been really helpful, despite having not bought my bike from them. It's generally been because of an issue on the commute home and they've helped out on the spot.

Seem pretty reasonable with price too so they get a thumbs up from me.

Cheers,
Adam

Go and see Rod & Elton at Giant Ipswich, I dealt with those guys dating back to the late 90's, both are top guys & straight shooters.

Hey there

I would suggest and highly recommend Jimmy (AT) http://www.bikeology.com.au" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
He does pickup and drop offs - knows his stuff.

Cheers!

+1 for Elton and Rod at the Giant shop. Elton is one of the most respected mechanics around.
