New rear wheel problem (hub??)

I've got new wheels on my bike after repairs, it's mostly good except for a very odd issue with the rear wheel.

It doesn't free-wheel properly and will in certain gears try to spin the pedals around. If I pedal backwards with the bike on a stand it will actually spin the rear wheel backwards. I've never encountered that before.

Anyone have any ideas? The hub is Bontrager RaceXLight (DT Swiss).

Sticky pawls in the freehub?
Can't be 100% sure as I've no experience with DT hubs but the symptoms sound about right.

So what do I do about it? Will it just sort itself out after a few rides?

Take it back to the shop?... if it seizes up fully it will drag the derailleur up into the wheel and rip it off possibly doing frame damage. Usually it is a 5 minute job on modern wheels.

I second sticky pawls. Probably a tad too much grease gumming them up. You should only have to pull the free hub (either a big 12 ro 14 mm allen keyor the bare end of a 3/8 socket extension bar - check with DT Swiss to be sure) and give it a rinse with WD-40 and then apply a lanolin spray - works for mine!

Will do. These wheels were not cheap.

It's not seizing, just slightly sticky as others have suggested.

Edit: seems that it is probably just that all the bits are brand new. LBS reckons after a few rides it will be fine. It's not bunching up the chain.

Unless you are getting chain slap, don't worry about it.

It is working fine. I went for a ride yesterday and had no issues. The bike is incredibly fast!

The DT rear hub has to be the quietest one I've ever come across too.
